Otter endorses McGee in Caldwell City Council runoff election

Former Idaho Gov. Butch Otter has not been very active in any of the races for city government positions – until now.

Otter has now endorsed former Sen. John McGee, a fellow Republican, in the Caldwell City Council Seat 6 runoff election as early voting gets underway.

Otter says he “enthusiastically” endorses McGee in the Dec. 3 runoff with Idaho Democratic Party Chair Evangeline Beechler.

Early voting in the race began Monday.

The Idaho Press reports, McGee served as a GOP senator while Otter was governor. Otter said he’s known McGee for nearly 25 years and believes McGee has “served the community in many capacities over the years, helping to make Caldwell a better place to live.”
