I Second That Emotion: Carly Pearce Curates NCD Playlist Featuring Kelsea, Kane, Kacey, Maren, Michael Ray & More [Listen]

It’s a good thing Carly Pearce recently told us she “likes to multitask.”

After making the media rounds last week in support of her new single, “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” Carly is preparing to tie the knot with Michael Ray this week. In addition, she recently earned her first CMA Awards nomination for New Artist of the Year.

It’s safe to say that Carly has a lot going on, but that didn’t stop her from taking the time to curate a new playlist for NCD that features 10 current tunes that stir her emotions. From optimism and awe to love and longing, Carly hand-picked nine of her favorite songs that are full of feelings—and we added one of Carly’s for good measure.

Check out Carly’s picks . . . and what she has to say about each song.

“The Bones” – Maren Morris
“The lyrics to this song are the essence of what country music is all about. Maren perfectly sings this love song.”

“Heartless” – Morgan Wallen & Diplo
“Morgan is one of the best singers in our format, period. I love the angst in his voice on this song. It’s currently my favorite jam that I can’t get enough of.”

“Her World Or Mine” – Michael Ray
“These kind of songs are why I fell in love with ’90s country music. Michael’s vocals show the heartbreak of the reality that sometimes breakups aren’t wanted on both sides.”

“Homecoming Queen?” – Kelsea Ballerini
“It takes true guts to admit that sometimes you aren’t okay. I love Kelsea’s bold message to people that even when it appears that you have it all together, no one is perfect and no one has it ALL figured out.”

“What If I Never Get Over You” – Lady Antebellum
“I am SUCH a Lady A fan, and this song is, in my opinion, what they do best. What a lyric, what a melody. Hurts me every time I hear it!”

“Made For You” – Jake Owen
“This is such a fun song, I absolutely love the lyricism. This song was definitely stuck in my head all summer.”

“Homesick” – Kane Brown
“This song gets me so emotional every time I hear it, especially dating another musician, I can definitely relate to the feeling of being homesick when I was away from the one I loved the most.”

“Beautiful Crazy”- Luke Combs
“I love Luke and especially this song. When I heard it for the first time, I knew it would be one of my favorites and a song that we’ll still be talking about years from now.”

“Slow Burn” – Kacey Musgraves
“I have been a huge fan of Kacey from the beginning, and Golden Hour is such an incredible album. This song is by far my favorite on the track, the lyrics are so beautiful and progressive.”
