Winter storm warnings are in effect for parts of western Montana, northern Idaho and northeast Washington.
Snow also is forecast for areas in Wyoming, Utah, Oregon, Nevada and California. The brunt of the storm hit Montana where up to 2 feet of snow fell Saturday in the mountains and a record 14 inches fell in Great Falls with snow still falling Sunday.
Locally, Bogus Basin did see it’s first snow of the year. Snow fell in Cascade, but no accumulations have been reported.
Meanwhile, Strong winds and heavy snow have led to power outages and temporary road closures in parts of Montana.
