The park near Quinn’s Pond is getting an update next summer.
The Boise City Council approved $389,000 for landscaping and other features on the south end of Quinn’s Pond, between the Greenbelt and the popular swimming area. It is expected to be completed in summer 2020.
The Idaho Press reports, the bid includes boulder walls concrete work and landscaping, with the possibility of other amenities added later. The entire park will be about 4 acres in size, and could include a playground, an overlook and additional concrete work.
This is one of several investments into this popular area in recent years. Esther Simplot Park features a network of swimming ponds and water attractions free of charge. It is adjacent to the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Whitewater Park in the Boise River, which just had another over $10 million expansion opened earlier this summer.
