A registered sex offender has been booked into the Ada County Jail after police say he exchanged illicit digital content with an underage girl.

On Tuesday, Boise Police officers helped investigate an endangered runaway girl who was believed to be in the Boise area.

KIVI-TV reports the girl had likely come to Boise to meet with Aaron Lane, who is a registered sex offender.

Officers located both Lane and the girl, and discovered they had been talking via social media and phone for the past year.

Lane was arrested for felony sexual exploitation of a child. The girl was reunited with her with family.

Boise Police SVU detectives are investigating to see if there may be any other victims connected to the suspect.
