The Treasure Valley Family YMCA will break ground on the south Meridian facility’s aquatic center today (Thursday).
The facility will be the city’s first indoor aquatic center.
The aquatic facility includes a lap pool, recreation and lesson pool, water slide, lazy river, kiddie pool with beach entry, and an outdoor splash pad.
The project also incorporates expanded locker rooms in the existing Y building, and an additional 8,000 square feet of space designed for strength training and an inclusive activity center.
The Idaho Press reports, staff anticipate completing the aquatic center by April 2021.
