Boise River flow increased to 6,800 cfs

As the flow rate on the Boise River continues to be increased, the river is now just below flood stage.

As of Thursday, the river was flowing at a rate of 6,800 cfs through Boise.

A flow of 7,000 Cubic feet per second is equal to 10 feet of water depth at the Glennwood Bridge, which is full flood stage.

Large sections of the Greenbelt path adjacent to the river have already become at least partly submerged, and minor flooding may affect portions of Eagle Island.

Residents of flood-prone areas in and near the greater Boise area are encouraged to keep informed of changes at the National Weather Service Boise office website, weather.gov/boi…The site offers flow data, weather forecasts, and flood alerts.
