McCall (670 KBOI News) – The McCall Fire Department responded to a location off Boulder Lake Road outside of McCall Monday night, after a pilot called 911…and said his plane was stuck in a tree.

When emergency crews arrived near Poorman Creek, they found a single engine plane in the top of a tree, about 60 feet from the ground.

CBS 2 News reports, one of the firefighters who owns and operates a tree removal company, was able to climb the tree and secure a safety harness on the pilot, who was then safely removed.

The firefighter said he was surprised at how stable the plane was in the tree.

There was no word on the pilot’s condition.
