Boise (670 KBOI News) – April 19th 1775 — 244 years ago tomorrow, the American War for Independence began with the Battles of Lexington and Concord.

So the Real 3%ers of Idaho will commemorate Patriots’ Day with a rally of their own, at the Idaho Statehouse at 2:00.

President Eric Parker says the spirit of independence is needed today, as much as it was needed in 1775.

“I believe it’s very relevant today, and I believe if we don’t know our history, if we aren’t willing to get in the Capitol, and work to avoid that kind of scenario, then we are doomed to repeat ourselves,” said Parker.  “We’ve been told that by smarter men than me.”

Lieutenant Governor Janice McGeachin will speak, and an spectators will be invited to take an oath of citizenship. Later, there will be a screening of the documentary, “Dead Man Talking”, about LaVoy Finicum.
