A handgun was found in a passenger’s carry-on luggage while she attempted to board a flight to Seattle at the Boise Airport.
TSA says officers found the loaded 9 mm pistol with seven rounds of ammunition. The officer spotted the image of a gun on the x-ray screen at about 5:40 a.m.
It’s the first handgun found at the Boise Airport in 2019.
TSA notified Boise Police and interviewed the traveler, who was not identified, and the investigation has been forwarded to the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office.
TSA can also levy a civil penalty, which can range from $2,000 to over $13,000 per violation.
