A Nampa man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for battery with intent to commit a serious felony.
Richard Stewart, was sentenced in Canyon County Court on Monday to 10 years fixed, followed by 10 indeterminate.
Stewart was also ordered to register as a sex offender and pay a $15,000 fine and a $5,000 civil penalty along with court costs and restitution.
The Idaho Press reports, Stewart was arrested in September after a victim told police she fell asleep after being intoxicated and woke up around 3 a.m. to find Stewart on top of her having sex with her.
Stewart is banned from any contact with the victim for 20 years and is required to submit a DNA sample to the Idaho database.
