Boise (670 KBOI News) – Boise’s airport could be expanding in the not-too distant future.
At the Boise City Council’s meeting today, airport Director Rebecca Hupp unveiled plans to expand the facility…adding a new concourse and additional parking.
According to the Idaho Statesman, passenger traffic has increased 49% in the last six years. The new concourse is needed to handle that increase in passengers.
Oddly enough, it would be called the A concourse…that’s because as things are today, the Boise airport has a B and C concourse, but no A.
Other upgrades would include a new parking garage, and an improved security screening area. The improvements would cost $150-200 million…Hupp said existing fees and surcharges on tickets and rental cars would pay for the project.
