Boise Lags Behind Bakersfield for Best Places to Celebrate Valentine’s Day

Boise (670 KBOI News) – Hey guys…wake up! Valentine’s Day is Thursday…better get a move on and make some plans, pronto!

If you haven’t got some idea in your head already as to what you’re going to do for your Valentine, in Boise, you don’t have a whole lot of options for last minute gifts.

So says Wallet Hub analyst Jill Gonzalez, who says Boise doesn’t rank particularly high for most romantic city in which to celebrate.

“We did 100 cities, and Boise did just sneak into the top half, it ranked 44th overall,” said Gonzalez.  “It did a little bit better on the budget, and even the weather forecast this year for Valentine’s Day, more so than actual activities and gift accessibility.”

What is gift accessibility? Gonzalez says it’s the number of florists, candy stores and other places to get those last-minute gifts.

To add insult to injury, Bakersfield scored one better on the list than we did, at #43.

Western cities made up most of the The Top 10; San Fran topped the rankings, Las Vegas was #3, San Diego was 4th, Seattle 6th, Portland 8th and Los Angeles was 10th.
