Ada County Coroner’s Office Identifies Three People Killed in Meridian Shooting

Meridian (670 KBOI News) – The Ada County coroner has identified the three people who died in the shooting Sunday in Meridian.

According to the Coroner’s Office, Heidi and Jose Pablo Diaz Deleon of Meridian both died of multiple gunshot wounds, believed to have been fired by Edward Lynn Epps of Boise.

Epps then killed himself with a gunshot to the head.

Meridian Police say Epps went into the Delon’s home on West Charles Street about 3:00 Sunday afternoon, shot the two adults, and took two children hostage.

Another teenage child was able to escape and run to a neighbor’s house for help.  None of the children were physically harmed.

The Idaho Statesman is reporting Epps and Heidi Deleon were married in 2000, but divorced in 2011. They also say a petition had been filed toward the end of 2018 to change the child support agreement.

Epps had no previous criminal history in Idaho.
