Caldwell (670 KBOI News) – A Boise man who pleaded guilty to two charges of vehicular manslaughter will spend at least 14 years in jail.
According to the Idaho Press, Joseph Sena was sentenced in Canyon County Court Tuesday, to 30 years in prison for crashing into and killing Rosa DeLaFuente and Adam Zamudio last July, as he tried to elude Nampa police.
He’ll be eligible for parole in 14 years.
Police tried to pull him over for suspicion of DUI, but instead of pulling over, he sped up, causing the crash. His blood alcohol content was .189, well over the legal limit of .08.
Sena has a criminal record going back to 1992, and was on parole for a drug sentence at the time of the crash.
Sena took a plea deal which set the maximum sentence for each vehicular manslaughter charge at 15 years, to be served consecutively. Felony eluding and persistent violator charges were dropped.
