ACHD Wants Your Input on Planned Bikeway from North End to Greenbelt

Boise (670 KBOI News) – The Ada County Highway District wants to know what you think about their next planned bike path.

The 11th Street Bikeway is in the concept phase right now, says Senior Planner Brooke Green, but she says it’s needed to help people feel more comfortable getting around the North End and downtown on their bikes.

“The 11th Street Bikeway is actually the sixth in a series of bikeways that we are either  in concept, construction or design,” said Green.  “Starting from Camel’s Back Park, it’ll go through Boise High, continuing to connect to Pioneer Pathway.”

She said they don’t have a projected cost right now, but the recently completed Leadville Avenue Bikeway, which runs on neighborhood streets parallel to Broadway in Southeast Boise, is a good model.

That 1.8 mile project cost $725,000, or roughly $408,000 per mile.
