UPDATE: Nampa Standoff Ends Peacefully

Nampa (670 KBOI News) – A police standoff in South Nampa is over, after a woman wanted on a felony failure to appear warrant surrendered Tuesday afternoon.

According to Sergeant Tim Riha with the Nampa PD, the standoff began shortly before 10:00 Tuesday morning, when they got a call from a homeowner that a wanted woman was in the house on South Garland Street.

When police arrived, 48-year old Susan Lee Swan, who was wanted on a $15,000 failure to appear warrant, stepped out of the house with a rifle. After going inside, a shot was fired.

Swan is not the homeowner…that person had left the house when police arrived.

The Special Operations Group set up a phone line to talk with her, and later in the afternoon, Idaho Power cut off service to the house.

Police finally persuaded Swan to surrender about 4:30.

She was booked into the Canyon County Jail, on the failure to appear charge.
