Spokane Group Wants to Blow Wildfire Smoke Back to Canada

Spokane (670 KBOI News) – An effort is underway in Spokane to do something about the smoke blowing from Canadian wildfires…blow it back.

According to KOMONews.com, a Facebook page has been started, called “Blow Spokane’s Smoke Away to Canada”. It’s calling for all 550,000 residents of the metro area to put five box fans each on their roofs, and at noon Friday, turn them on.

Page organizers say they’ve done the calculating, and it is possible to blow the smoke back to Canada, using box fans. Skeptics aren’t so sure.

That may not be necessary, as a dry front is expected to move into the area Friday, which could very well push that smoke back to Canada…or to us here in Idaho.
