Meridian (670 KBOI News) – It’s an honor never before bestowed upon the Idaho State Police…one of its black Dodge Charger patrol cruisers will be featured in next year’s Best Looking Cruisers Calendar by the American Association of State Troopers.

The sleek, black Charger with dual racing stripes and a gold Idaho on the doors got more than 8,000 Facebook likes, to earn a spot in the calendar.

Spokesman Tim Marsano says it’s a great recruiting tool, having an office that can go from 0-60 in 5 seconds.

“I have been in there when our troopers have chased down speeders, for example, highway infractions,” said Marsano.  “That thing has a 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 in it.They can move pretty good.”

Marsano says troopers take pride in how their cruisers look, knowing they’re often the face of Idaho to out-of-state motorists.

The calendar goes on sale in September, on the Association’s website.
