Boise (670 KBOI News) – The City of Boise wants to spend more than $150,000 for a sculpture on Vista Avenue, and they want to hear what you think of three proposals.

The City paid three artists $1,000 apiece for their submissions, and will award an additional $147,000 to the artist whose submission is selected, to build their work. The sculpture would be installed on a median on Vista Avenue, in the vicinity of Cherry Street.

The City would spend additional funds to hire a contractor to engineer the design and manage traffic while it’s being installed.

The money to pay for the project would come in part from Community Development Block Grant, which the City’s website says, “are flexible programs that provide communities with resources to address a wide range of unique community development needs.”

The balance would come from private funds.
