Boise (670 KBOI News) – The City of Boise is gearing up for a hectic weekend, with four major events happening downtown.
Deputy Chief Eugene Smith says that means road closures and detours are starting this afternoon near Rhodes Stake Park, and will be in effect all weekend.
“The X-Games and the Hooligan Race could see anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 or even 15,000 people over the weekend,” said Smith. “The Pride Fest event in Cecil Andrus Park could see anyplace from 10,000 to 20,000 people over the weekend.”
There’s also the Father’s Day Car Show at 8th and Idaho on Sunday. All of that is in addition to the Farmer’s Markets and the usual business in downtown. Then there’s the rest of the City, too.
Smith says police, fire, paramedics and City employees will be using a unified incident command structure to manage it all.
