Board of Education Votes to Make Boise State Provost Interim President

Boise (670 KBOI News) – The Idaho State Board of Education has decided who will temporarily lead Boise State University after President Bob Kustra leaves at the end of June.

The Board voted unanimously to make Dr. Martin Schrimpf, the current Provost of Boise State, the interim president effective July 1st. He was scheduled to step down as Provost on June 30th — which is also Kustra’s last day as president — and return to a faculty position.  He’s a former Chemistry professor.

Schrimpf will serve as president while the search resumes for a permanent replacement for Kustra…the board interviewed three candidates for the position, but decided to keep looking.
