One Dead Following Hazmat Situation in Dietrich

One person is dead and multiple people were sent to the hospital on Thursday after a hazmat situation at a Dietrich home.

KMVT in Twin Falls is reporting that deputies from the Twin Falls and Lincoln County Sheriff’s office responded to a home for a man who was reportedly dead.

When police arrived, they located the man and found a canister with an unidentified gas in the home. Authorities say a total of eight people, including some first responders, were transported to area hospitals for treatment. North Canyon Medical Center was on lockdown for about two hours.

It’s unclear at this point what caused the man’s death.
