Is Someone Trying to Have Signers Take Their Names Off Petition?

Boise (670 KBOI News) – A spokesman for the group Save Idaho Horse Racing says people who signed their petition are being prodded to have their signatures removed by opponents of the ballot measure to bring back historic horse race betting machines.

Todd Dvorak says they’re sent a postcard to signatories, asking them to stand firm, and tell those who want them to remove their names from the petition to back off.

“We like to think the voters have spoken at this point, and decided that this is an issue important enough to put on the ballot in November,” said Dvorak.  “We also think when people sign their names to a petition, that they are educated on the issue, and know what they’re signing.  At least if they don’t support the idea, they support the idea of letting the people decide.”

Dvorak didn’t name the group they think is behind it, but in the past, they’ve accused the Coeur d’Alene tribe of harassing petitioners, and harassing those who signed it.
