Boise (670 KBOI) – A retired Catholic priest faces even more charges of child pornography and drug possession, after a hearing in Ada County Court this morning.

The Idaho Statesman is reporting, at the time of his arrest, 72-year old Thomas Faucher had faced over a dozen charges of possession of child pornography, as well as marijuana, LSD and ecstasy. At today’s hearing, seven additional charges of child porn and another charge of LSD possession were added to the list.

At the hearing, Judge James Cawthon agreed with the prosecution’s request that Faucher’s bail be increased from $250,000 to $1,000,000.

Deputy Prosecutor Kassandra Slaven told Cawthon they’d found even more evidence that Faucher wanted to rape and kill children…and had they known that at the time they filed charges, they’d have asked for higher bail at that time.

Faucher waived his right to a preliminary hearing…his next court date is March 23rd.
