Boise State to Host “E-Sports” Tournament

Boise (670 KBOI News) – Boise State is set to host its first-ever “e-sports” tournament for high school students, coming up April 21st.

What are “e-sports”, you ask? Playing video games competitively, in a nutshell.

The College of Education, the College of Innovation and Design and the College of Educational Technology is hosting the tournament.  It’ll be held in the Jordan Ballroom, and anyone who likes to watch other people play video games is welcome to attend…and watch.

All Idaho high school students can form teams…they must have an adult sponsor who’s somehow associated with their school. They’ll play video games against each other…the games include League of Legends, Overwatch E-Sports, Rocket League and Super Smash Brothers.

Each video game player will have to pay a $25 entry fee.

Registration is open now…go to esports.boisestate.edu to sign up.
