CBD Oil Bill Clears House, Headed to Senate

Boise (670 KBOI News) – A bill which would legalize the use of Cannabidoil Oil, under a doctor’s orders, is moving ahead in the Idaho House of Representatives.

House Bill 577 cleared the House Health and Welfare Committee Friday unanimously, it now goes to the House floor for debate.

In over two hours of debate, opponents and proponents of the bill made their case to the Committee, including Miste Gardner-Karlfeldt with Health Freedom Idaho…who said CBD oil doesn’t make you high, unlike THC oil.

“CBD oil is typically used to help anxiety, depression, brain fog, pain, inflammation, low energy, sleep issues, and provide a general sense of well-being,” said Garner-Karlfeldt.  “THC oil is something completely different, and it typically used for those with cancer.”

A similar bill made it through both houses in 2015, only to be vetoed by Governor Otter.
