Boise (670 KBOI) – For the second year in a row, ESPN will hold its X Games qualifying match for skateboarding and BMX at downtown Boise’s Rhodes Skate Park.
Parks and Recreation Director Doug Holloway says this is another huge opportunity for Boiseans to really show off what makes their city such a great place to live…and skateboard.
“We’re excited about showcasing our great city, and showcasing our ability to put on a world-class, world-wide event, in cooperation with the Visitor and Convention Bureau here in Boise and ESPN,” said Holloway.
He says feedback they got after last year’s X Games qualifier is that Rhodes is one of the best skate parks in the world.
The qualifying match will be June 15th and 16th, and is by invitation only. Holloway says they want to create a “fan fest” atmosphere, with fun and games for families and kids, all around the park.
