Crapo: Compromise Tax Bill Looks Better Than the House and Senate Bills

Washington DC (670 KBOI) – The Congressional Conference Committee apparently reached an agreement on a final tax reform bill.

Idaho Senator Mike Crapo says the final details won’t be delivered to Congress until Friday, but he’s seen some of the details already…and it’ll be even better for taxpayers and businesses…

“I believe the corporate rate has gone up from 20 to 21 (percent) , and additional tax reduction has been provided for almost all income categories on the income tax,” said Crapo.  “Which translates to an bigger tax cut for the middle class and lower income categories.”

He says all tax brackets will see relief, the best percentages being in the lower brackets, and doubling the standard deduction will mean 95% of taxpayers won’t have to itemize anymore.

Crapo says a vote in both houses could come as soon as next Tuesday or Wednesday, if it passes it would go to the President for his signature.
