Former State Representative Brandon Hixon of Caldwell was arrested Saturday night on charges of driving under the influence and resisting or obstructing officers.
He was arrested by the Meridian Police Department around 7 p.m and booked into the Ada County Jail.
An officer performed a traffic stop at I-84 at Linder Road.
KBOI-2-TV reports, Hixon initially refused to exit his vehicle. When he finally did, Officers conducted a field sobriety test which showed a blood alcohol content of almost twice the legal limit.
