19 Years After She Disappeared, Idaho Fugitive Caught in South Dakota

Rhonda Blake

Boise (670 KBOI) – A woman who walked away from a prison work center nearly 20 years ago will be extradited to Idaho after she was found in South Dakota, living under an assumed name.

According to the Idaho Department of Correction, in 1998 Rhonda Blake walked away from what was then called the Boise Work Center…it’s now the East Boise Community Re-entry Center. She had been serving probation for a drug conviction in Gem County, but at the time she disappeared, she was serving six months for probation violation.

Blake was found by the Department of Correction’s Special Investigations Unit at her Rapid City home. She’s also wanted for a misdemeanor drunk driving arrest in South Dakota…after that’s cleared up, she’ll be brought back to Idaho.
