“Threat Averted”, says Canyon County Sheriff’s Office

Melba (670 KBOI News) – Details are scarce, but the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office says a violent and tragic incident was averted, which would have targeted Melba Elementary School.

KBOI-2 TV is reporting over the weekend, a member of the community contacted the Sheriff’s Office, saying a juvenile was acting suspiciously…deputies took the juvenile into custody, and determined the threat was real.

Parents were notified and made aware of the situation, but no further details have been given.

The Sheriff’s Office says the incident was isolated, and there is no further threat to the school or the community.
