A 63-year-old woman found dead in her Meridian home was killed as part of a murder suicide.

Police say they received a report around 5 p.m. from family members who told them they had not heard from a person and asked for officers to do a welfare check at the person’s house on the 1200 block of Italy Street.

When officers went to the home, they found a 63-year-old woman dead inside, and started investigating.

Crime scene tape was put up around the house, which caused some neighbors to be concerned.

Meridian Police says the Gem County Sheriff’s Office was investigating an unattended death of a man and believe the two died from a murder/suicide.

No information about the woman or man have been released. Identification will come from the Ada County Coroner’s Office.
