Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood Share Their Love This Valentine’s Day—“I Have Become That Sappy Love Song That I Always Hated,” Says Trisha

Valentine’s day is a day to show your love with those important to you. Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are doing just that by sharing their love for each other not just today (Feb. 14) but every day.

“Being in the same room, breathing the same air, whether you’re doing the same thing or not – doesn’t matter,” Garth said about his wife of eleven years. “Just as long as I know she’s there, then I don’t think there’s anything I can’t do in that moment. And that’s a great strength to have.”

Garth proposed to his wife, Trisha Yearwood, on the stage of the Buck Owen’s Crystal Palace in front of 7,000 people on May 25, 2005 and have been inseparable ever since. The couple lives together, plays together and even works together, including recording a Christmas duets album, Christmas Together, and touring on Garth’s World Tour.  Spending that much time together could make anyone long for some space—not Garth and Trisha.

“We really are best friends. We enjoy each other’s company. And I have become that sappy love song that I always hated,” Trisha said. “You know, I was always like, ‘No one’s that happy.’ And now, ‘Hi!’ Even when we’re stuck in traffic, we’re like, ‘Well, we’re together!’ I mean, that’s—that just makes you want to punch me, I know, but that’s just the way it is.”

No need for violence. We’re just here to spread the love. Happy Valentine’s Day!
