Keep Kids Warm is Treasure Valleys largest coat drive and fundraiser to assist in need families with their gas bills during the winter months.
How it was born
Keep Kids Warm started by a phone call to the Kissin’ 92.3 studios in December of 1996. The station was contesting for cash when a phone call came in from a young girl who asked: “If I can’t win the money, can I win some heating oil for my family…our house is cold, and we just want to be warm for Christmas…” Kissin’ and their listeners immediately took action. That call generated an outpouring of calls and donations, and before that morning was over, an account had been set-up, and Keep Kids Warm was born. That year around $17,000 was raised, and the money not only helped the girls family, but several others around the Treasure Valley.
How it Works
Funds are raised through station sponsored events & donation options inserted through billing from Intermountain Gas.
From 1996 to 2019 we were able to raise over $1,050,000 and collect thousands of coats!
