Men and Laundry… jeez.

I’m sure some men are very particular about their laundry. I know there are a few out there who sort all of their clothes when wash day comes around, have organized closets, and rarely lose the matches to their socks. I will admit. I’m not the best at laundry. I often forget I put a load in the washer for a couple of days, then I have to re-wash it before I put it in the dryer. Lots of times I get dressed straight out of the dryer because that is where my clean matching socks are. Quite frequently, I will just throw the clean clothes on the bed in the spare room, then sort through them for what I want. Like I said, I’m not the best at laundry… but some of the hilarious stuff my boyfriend does just baffles me:

– He really hates matching socks.
As a matter of fact, I think he might be allergic to it. He has black socks and white socks. I have every color under the sun, plus different patterns. I can see how maybe he would miss the little green logo on his black sock not matching the white one on the other black sock, but he likes to pair my green ones with my pink ones and my polka dotted ones with my striped ones. If they’re the same size and brand, they go together. The sock thing doesn’t bother me much… but he does something hilarious yet annoying with the shorts.

– He can’t figure out which drawers things go in.
Shorts seem to be the thing that really confuse him though. I will open 3 different drawers to find 3 different pairs of shorts. He will only miss the shorts drawer by 1 drawer, but it never fails. I have to search my entire dresser for my shorts and on the rare occasion my skirts. He cracks me up because he tells me that I have too many places for clothes, and that is why he can’t find the shorts. The funniest part about that is that I have the 5 drawer dresser, he has the 8 drawer dresser.

I will say- he NEVER shrinks anything of mine. He is super good at that. He would rather let everything I own air dry than unleash the “you shrunk my clothes” monster (me). Over all he does a fantastic job at laundry. He is way better at starting and switching over loads than I am (but I think it is because he runs out of underwear). Like I said, I’m sure there are some men that are particular about their laundry- and as hilarious as it is that my shorts are all over my closet and my socks never match, I should be grateful that I have a man who will actually DO laundry!
