Shooting Stars Basketball (Kids and family)
Location: Nampa Recreation Center Court #1
Boys and girls in kindergarten and first grade will have fun, playing basketball that emphasizes learning skills and sports values rather than pure competition. Each child is placed on a team balanced by skill level and coached by a Nampa Recreation Center volunteer. Teams will have one 45-minute practice and one game per week.Team placement will be July 7 at 6pm. Practices will be Monday and Wednesday evenings, and games on Thursday evenings. Participants must register by July 6.$24 (Members)$32 (Non-Members)

This exhibit is the largest and most comprehensive traveling exhibition ever created to explore the history, biology and evolution of dogs and their role in human society. This hands-on, interactive exhibit uses familiarity and love of these four-legged friends to explore science and biological concepts. Visitors can enter a “howling” area, guess what dogs are saying, test their noses against an extraordinary sense of smell and climb into an avalanche scene to see what it’s like to be saved by a search and rescue dog. Hot August Nights (Community Event)

Location: Placerville, Idaho
The Boise Basin Boosters, a non-profit organization, which provides community support for Placerville, and surrounding areas, is having their 3rd annual “Hot August Nights”. There will be fun events throughout the day, such as the dunk tank-choose your victim and cake walk. There is a minimal charge for these events. For five dollars you can be a part of the “Dutch Oven Cook-Off”, judging will be held 5:00 p.m.; prizes will be awarded. There will be a potluck at 6:00 p.m. with the Boise Basin Boosters providing the meat, which is a roasted hog prepared in the Hog Roaster by Placerville’s famous cook George Butters. Carolyn Garrison has donated a beautiful quilt which will be raffled off at 7:00p.m. Please come and join us for a fun filled day!

Children should bring a sleeping bag, swimsuit, towel, and clothes to sleep in. Ages 6-12.Parents or legal guardian must register child(ren) for the event. Children must check-in with staff upon arrival. Register by 7pm the day before the event to avoid a $5 late fee. No registration will be accepted after 6pm the day of the event. The more advanced trails will be serviced by the Deer Point chairlift (10am-4pm) and guests must purchase a lift ticket at $15/person. All mountain bike riders are required to wear helmets. Shooting Stars Basketball (Kids and family)
Location: Nampa Recreation Center Court #1
Boys and girls in kindergarten and first grade will have fun, playing basketball that emphasizes learning skills and sports values rather than pure competition. Each child is placed on a team balanced by skill level and coached by a Nampa Recreation Center volunteer. Teams will have one 45-minute practice and one game per week.Team placement will be July 7 at 6pm. Practices will be Monday and Wednesday evenings, and games on Thursday evenings.
