Hawthorne Elementary School is holding its annual carnival from 6-8:30pm. There will be a silent auction from 4-8pm. Profits will help finance items requested by the teachers and staff to benefit the students.

Nobody Knows: The Untold Story of Black Mormons (Show)

The Idaho Black History Museum is proud to present the award-winning documentaryNobody Knows: The Untold Story of Black MormonsThe film has been shown to capacity crowds in California, Utah and Texas, and was recently featured in Jet Magazine.It will be shown at 7pm on Friday, May 9th at the BSU SPEC Center The event is free. Donations are appreciated. The filmmakers, who have published several books and scholarly articles about Blacks in the west, will be at the Idaho Black History Museum for further discussion on Saturday, May 10th at 11:00 a.m.The film is a documentary about African American Latter-day Saints. The project was headed by Margaret Young and Darius Gray, authors of several award-winning books and articles about Black Mormons, and by Danor Gerald, a promising new filmmaker. This event is sponsored by the Idaho Black History Museum, the Idaho Humanities Council and the BSU Student Activities Board.
